From 9-13 Ocotber Liepaja University hosted the staff member of the Library of David Yellin College of Education in Israel - Raya Zimmerman. Her visit at LiepU was held under the Erasmus+ staff training mobility programme.
During the Erasmus+ mobility at LiepU and Liepaja, Raja Zimmerman had a chance to meet with Liga Krumina the Director of Liepaja University Library and acquaintance with library work, employees, functions and tasks, work processes, collection development.
Raya Zimmerman had various activities at the Liepaja Central Scientific Library, Branch Library "Vecliepājas Rūķis" where she gave a presentation of the David Yellin Academic College of Education Library focused on the experience of incorporation of new materials in the library collections, and attraction of users to the library as a place. During the meeting Inga Jurgeviča, the Head of the Branch Library "Vecliepājas Rūķis" introduced with the library work, employees, functions and tasks, work processes, collection development, etc.
During the Erasmus+ mobility, there was a visit to Branch Library "Libris" organized, where Raya Zimmerman met with Daina Skujiņa, the Head of the Branch Library "Libris". Discussion with colleagues on various topics and visit to different library halls was organized.
LiepU and David Yellin College of Education has concluded the Erasmus+ agreement and started actively plan various incoming an outgoing mobilities, but due to Hamas terorists attack of October 7 on Israel, currently all activities are prosponed.
