LiepU French lecturer has returned from the guest lecturing in Mexico

From April 10 to 18, the Assistant Professor from Liepaja University (LiepU) Faculty of Humanities and Arts Inga Bliska has recently returned from the teaching visit at one of the largest universities in Mexico - the University of Veracruz in Xalapa city. The University of Veracruz (VU) has been LiepU partner university within the Erasmus+ programme since 2018, therefore the lecturer visited this university on Erasmus+ exchange teaching mobility within the international credit mobility project KA107.

I am grateful for the investment of this project, that I could share my experience in conducting theatrical activities from the script to the mise-en-scène, allowing the students to jointly create the atmosphere of the hero's journey story with sound effects created by the voice, act it out and share the impressions with each other. My colleagues and I agreed to start cooperation by creating reports in video format as part of the International Francophonie Day.

The lecturer Inga Bliska says about her visit at the university that the first impression definitely confirms that education is the main value of the country and the basis of the development of society, where funds are also invested, because the student campus created in Halapa with a concert hall, a library, a sports complex and a park with greenery allow us to conclude that a favorable environment is very important for the motivation of each person's individual growth. In addition, the riches of the Anthropology Museum of Xalapa allows us to understand with admiration how far research has revealed the culture of the Aztec civilization and the conscious prehistoric heritage of the state of Veracruz before it was conquered by the Spanish conquerors. In conversations with colleagues, it was revealed that the university teaching staff and their scientific research are well received and highly valued. The openness, kindness, warmth and hospitality of the Mexican colleagues really surprised me, as I had been welcomed as a distinguished guest. I highly appreciate the reception, the collegial and social meetings, the acquired contacts for further cooperation. Meetings with familiar colleagues continued outside of official meetings during lunch and dinner in the city, tasting Mexican coffee and typical cuisine, and outside, enjoying the untouched natural landscapes between volcanoes, river valleys, the coast of the Gulf of Mexico with its typical tropical climate, flora and fauna.

The warmth received will remain in memories for a long time and future plans and agreements will maintain it. During my mobility, I was able to gain a unique experience and experience how the abilities and creative potential of each person intertwine in a single story.
