Museums' Night guests visit the courtyard of the MPLab

This year the visitors to the Museums' Night at Liepaja were delighted by the offer prepared by Liepaja University Faculty of Humanities and Arts. In the courtyard at Kurmajas prospekts 13 visitors enjoyed both sound art and the process of creating poetry. Children were most interested in the possibility of working with colors under the supervision of university teachers.

Liepaja University has been participating in the Museums’ Night events for seven years, but for the first-time visitors were brought together by the Faculty of Humanities and Arts. It was particularly pleasing for the bustling visitor community. Anna Priedola, the Deputy Dean, says: “The main thing is that we can expand the circle of people who are interested in what we are doing – many of the visitors participated in creating a joint musical piece with the professor Krista Dintere, learned about the history of Liepaja’s opera through the research of Vēsma Lēvalde. A special interest was in a creating process of VR.”

We would kindly remind that Sound Days 2023 will be held from 27.05. until 04.06. at Liepaja University. Sound Days festival is an interdisciplinary festival dedicated to promoting freedom of creative expression in sound art, media art, literature and electronic experimental music. Sound Days 2023 will explore the intersections of sound and text in various forms. Festival activities will consist of an exhibition, workshops and performances.
