From January 11-13 LiepU Faculty of Science and Engineering staff - Uldis Žaimis, Director of the Institute of Science and Innovative Technologies and laboratory staff: Andrejs Kukuškins and Sintija Ozoliņa visited the School of Technology - Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design at the University of Thessaly.
Sintija Ozoliņa is also master level study program's "Ecotechnologies" student and currently she is working on her master thesis on the paper production from the seaweed. Sintija Ozoliņa says: "To learn more about circular economy and wood construction teaching in EU country was a valuable experience for me. We also had a chance to share our experience in the paper recycling laboratory and in the field of smart technologies. The main aim of the Erasmus+ visit was to widen the look on the other technologies, to create a cooperation in the wood production field thus improving the recycling process in LiepU Recycling laboratory".
In few months Sintija Ozoliņa will have a chance to go to the University of Thessaly again, this time as Erasmus+ intern and use the laboratories which are available at the University of Thessaly to work on her master thesis. Master student and her teacher looking forward to the moment they will be able to use the paper created from the seaweed.
From 13-14 December 2021 in the frame of Erasmus+ teaching mobility, LiepU was hosting professors from Greece - University of Thessaly. LiepU and University of Thessaly has recently concluded the Erasmus+ insitutional agreement.
