LiepU English classes will be taught by Fulbright Program’s participant from the USA

In 2021/2022 academic year in the frame of Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Program Liepaja University is hosting English Teacher from the USA - Daniel Harrington.

Daniel Harrington in a cooperation with LiepU English Teachers – Dagnija Deimante and Indra Kalniņa – is giving Practical Communication, British and American culture classes.

Fulbright scholar’s grandmother immigrated to the United States from Latvia during World War II, this is one of the reasons Daniel Harrington wanted to undertake an English Teaching Assistantship to further explore Latvian heritage through his stay in Latvia. The second reason was to gain a teaching experience as he is planning to link his professional activities in the future with this profession.

Daniel Harrington has been studying in University of South Carolina-Columbia and has received a bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences.

Scholar will stay at LiepU for two academic semesters and has already joined Liepaja University folk dance group “Banga” and expressed the fish to attend Latvian classes at LiepU.

Thank you, Embassy of the USA in Latvia, for this opportunity!
