Subject Aim

To study the main directions of 20th-century Spanish and Latin American literature, the historical and social factors that shaped them, and the works of the most prominent authors

Subject Content

The course acquaints students with the main literary movements in Hispanic literature of the 20th century, including the pluralism of styles phenomena in the turn of 19th and 20th centuries as well as the 20th and 21st century short fiction genre and its features and main authors of the relevant . During the course, students not only acquire knowledge, but also develop their own creative writing skills in Spanish

Expected Results

Students acquire the following competencies:

1) academical ­– knowledge about 20th-century Spanish and Latin American literature and its most prominent authors;

2) professional – the skills and abilities to present in Spanish their literature knowledge and to analyze literary texts

Requirements to gain ECTS

Acquisition of the theoretical material, sucessful completion of independent tasks, active participation in classes (70%); successfully passed final test..
