Subject Aim

The study course aims to strengthen knowledge and to improve the skills and abilities necessary for an in-depth understanding of the culture of Spanish speaking countries; to improve intercultural communication skills

Subject Content

Spanish and Latinamerican culture studies offers a diverse insight into the culture of Spanish-speaking world . The main focus of the course is on four aspects: traditions, music, cinema and literature, giving a brief insight into each country or regions and their characteristics. An essential part of the course is students' independent studies in preparing presentations for each country, selecting one of the four aspects offered to study deeper and present it to their studymates.

Expected Results

As a result of the study course students foster their understanding about the diversity of Spanish culture in Spain and Latinamerican countries, discover different cultural aspecsts such as  traditions, music, cinema and literature. Students will learn from each other by sharing their practical work in presentations and seminars, as well watching movies, listening to the music and gettin introduces to the Anthology of Hispanic literature.

Requirements to gain ECTS

Acquisition of the theoretical material, sucessful completion of independent tasks, active participation in classes (70%); successfully passed final test..
