Subject Aim

To develop the student's sense of language, learning about  stylistically and emotionally expressive vocabulary layers, identifying the features and usability of text and seeing the modern world.

Subject Content

The course describes the basic unit of language – word (lexeme), its structure, meaning, etymology, variants. Name issue in three aspects: structural, semantic und functional. Deals wiht homonymy, synonymy, antonymy und hyponymy issues and phraseology.

Expected Results

Lexical competence - knowledge of vocabulary and the ability to use it in relation to the context.
Semantic competence - understanding the importance of the meaning and ability to use it.

Requirements to gain ECTS

Ttheoretically learned  course, successfully completed independent work tasks, participation in practical lessonsand seminars,positively passed exam.
