Subject Aim

Promote the development of student’s personality and develop speaking skills in the French language by working on fluency and pace.

Subject Content

The course is based on the communicative approach with a pragmatic focus, using a direct method and respecting students’ interests as well as language features. Course topics cover the following subjects: my daily life, surroundings, leisure time, relationships, nutrition. The course provides purposeful use of acquired knowledge of French in diverse situations.

Expected Results

Students have acquired the rules of etiquette in communication, have knowledge of verbal and non-verbal means of expression, are able to match them with appropriate situation, to make an exchange of ideas on familiar topics in the daily and official situations.

Their communication in French is limited, but they may come into contact with Francophones.

Requirements to gain ECTS

Participation (75%)  in classes, passing grades for independent tasks and at the final test.
