Acquire appropriate reading, pronunciation and writing skills in the French language

Subject Content

The course is envisaged for acquisition of practical phonetics in French, reading, pronunciation and writing skills according to language proficiency level A1. The sound articulation organs, phonetic system in French and specific articulation features, different phonetic phenomena, transcription symbols are dealt with as well as links of phonetics with orthography.

Expected Results

The student has acquired knowledge of sound articulation organs, of French language phonetic system and transcription symbols, is able to understand a variety of phonetic phenomena and specific articulation features, and is able to read, pronounce and write correctly in accordance with the language proficiency level A1.

Requirements to gain ECTS

Participation (75%)  in classes, passing grades for independent tasks and at the final test.
