Subject Aim

To promote the development of students’ personalities by encouraging the use of English in communication, life-long learning, in formal and informal settings.

Subject Content

The course is based on a communicative approach with the application of pragmatic strategies using direct method and taking into consideration the needs of students and peculiarities of learning the language. The themes acquired during the course: Personality and Society. Environment. Mass media. Travelling. 

Expected Results

Student has obtained knowledge which gives an opportunity to express oneself on the themes covered, both in written and spoken language.

Student is able to communicate both in formal and informal situations (level B2-C2).

Student is able to carry out self-realisation in communication with representatives of English culture, understands and interprets information obtained from spoken and written texts and use the information in other spheres of his/her activity, as well as analyses his/her language learning experience and understands various language learning strategies. 

Requirements to gain ECTS

Participation (75%)  in classes, passing grades for independent tasks and at the final test.
