Professor Ekaterina Protassova gives lectures to LiepU students and local teachers

Currently Professor Ekaterina Protassova from Helsinki University in Finland who is working at Liepaja University in the frame of the European Social Fund project No. 8.2.2.0/18/I/003 “The perfection of academic staff of Liepaja University in the areas of strategic specialization – speech therapy, preschool education and primary education” is actively working with LiepU Master level students (with pedagogical background) of study program "General Education Teacher" by delivering the study course “Teachers’ professional mastery” and analyzing and giving feedback to student prepared presentations.

On 10th May Professor had a meeting - open lecture at the Department of Education of Liepaja city, where she had a chance to meet with Liepaja school teachers who are giving Latvian as foreign language to local pupils at school. In Liepaja there are still many schools with bilingual approach, Professor gave lecture on "Second Language Acquisition and Second Language Teaching". After the lecture, Professor who is an expert in bilingual education, and teachers exchanged approaches both used in Latvian and Estonian schools.
