Professor from Lithuania works with Liepaja University students

Last week Professor Kristina Vaisvalavičienė from the Faculty of Humanities of Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania) worked for several days at Liepaja University.

On May 18 professor gave lectures on the topical trends in Lithuanian children's and teenage literature to various Liepaja University student groups: master program’s “Writing Studies”, bachelor program’s “Baltic philology, culture and communication”, bachelor program’s “Latvian Language and Literature Teacher” students.

The director of the “Baltic philology, culture and communication” study program Sandra Okuņeva welcomed Lithuanian guest lecturer and said: “Professor’s narrative highlighted the most important aspects of recent years in Lithuanian childrens' literature: the diversity of history themes, solutions to national aspects, creative themes of folklore and mythology usage". After the lecture Professor Kristina Vaisvalavičienė participated in the evaluation of the master thesis “Actual Trends in Latvian Children's Literature” by the study program’s “Writing Studies” student.
