LiepU delegation visits Vilnius Academy of Arts

Last week a delegation from Liepaja University Faculty of Humanities and Arts - its Deputy Dean Anna Priedola, Director of the study direction "Arts" Maija Demitere, New Media Art lecturer Rogier Jupijn, Sound Art lecturer Krista Dintere and International Relations Department Chief specialist Ērika Lauberga-Sleže and Senior specialist Sintija Bruže, had visited Vilnius Academy of Arts (VDA) in Vilnius city under the Erasmus+ exchange.

During the visit LiepU representatives had fruitful meetings and discussions with the academy's Rector Prof. Ieva Skaurone, Vice-rector for studies and science, Media art lecturers, Head of the Design Innovation Centre, Director of Graphics Department and the Director of Photography Department.

Were discussed various important questions such as both university doctoral art study programmes and reflections of scientific art results within Phd process, each country's situation in Arts study direction, good practices of students artistic work and different possibilities of more active future cooperation with VDA:

✔️ERASMUS+ exchange of students and academic staff;

✔️possibilities for organizing intensive blended mobilities (BIP) for art students;

✔️ VDA student and academic staff participation in LiepU MPLab Film and Animation festival UPDATE (March 27-31);

✔️possible cooperation in creating exhibitions, etc.

VDA staff also showed different student working classes, the awarded student works of the Design Innovation Centre, as well as the current VDA media art exhibition "MEDIARAMOS".

Liepaja University is very thankful for this productive visit and is ready to start more active cooperation. It is expected that in the upcoming Autumn semester a group of LiepU "New Media Art and Design" study programme students will spend one study semester in Vilnius under the supervision of VDA lecturers.
