Regarding the work regime in relation to Covid-19

According to the Cabinet Regulation (hereinafter - CR) No 360 of 9th June 2020 “Epidemiological safety measures for limiting the spread of Covid-19 infection”, in order to limit the spread of Covid-19 infection, Liepaja University (hereinafter – LiepU) establishes the following epidemiological safety measures for the spread of Covid-19:

  1. To DEFINE that from 10th June until 31st August 2020 study process is organized remotely by using digital technologies, and to assign to the faculty deans to ensure remote study process.
  2. Observing the recommendations for Covid-19 safety measures set by the Ministry of Health and Latvian Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (DPCC), as well as to ensure social (physical) distance and epidemiological safety measures defined in the Cabinet Regulation No 360, including gathering restrictions, providing access to disinfection means, observing 2 meter distance between any persons (hereinafter – safety measures), to DEFINE exceptional cases and from 10th June until 31st August 2020 ALLOW to organize:  
    1. In-person consultations for students, who are preparing for the state examinations, including the exams of vocational qualification;
    2. the state examination, including the examination process of vocational qualification for LiepU students, if it is not possible to organize it remotely;
    3. the acquisition of practical part of the vocational higher education programme, whose process is foreseen in LiepU, and process of corresponding examinations at LiepU, if it is not possible to make it remotely;
    4. the educational process in programmes of interest-related education, professional further education, professional development and adult non-formal education, including the examination process, not overreaching the maximum number of people -  50 in the group.
    5. any other event organization in presence at LiepU is allowed only after coordination with rector.

4. The further study process in LiepU can be changed and planned according to conditions caused by the epidemiologic situation and requirements of the public safety.

6. To ASSIGN to LiepU staff, including students, to strictly observe recommendations of the Latvian Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (DPCC) (https://spkc.gov.lv/lv/aktualitates) for limiting the spread of the Covid-19 infection.

7. To DEFINE the following work regime of LiepU study buildings for students and staff: the building in Lielā street 14, Liepaja:

  • in the period from 10th June till 31st August 2020 is open on working days from 8:30 a.m. – 18:00 p.m.;

the building in Kūrmāja prospect 13, Liepaja:

  • in the period from 10th June till 30th June 2020 is open on working days from 9:00 a.m. – 17:00 p.m.,
  • in the period from 1st July till 14th July 2020 is open on working days from 9:00 a.m. – 15:00 p.m.
  • in the period from 15th July till 16th August 2020 is closed (study process is organized and/or work shall be done in the building in Lielā street 14, Liepaja).

The entrance for staff and visitors is allowed in buildings, observing the safety measures, by showing a valid LiepU certificate (card), for other visitors – after prior coordination with the corresponding LiepU department (the Head of department must inform receptionist about the visitor).

8. To DEFINE that from 10th June 2020 LiepU library is open for visitors according to the library’s working time in summer (available on LiepU website), considering these conditions:

  • users’ services are carried out, observing safety measures;
  • Books in the subscription are issued by the library’s employee after user’s priorly made list or reservation on online catalogue;
  • for retuning the book is allowed to use only the bookdrop box in the entrance hall of LiepU, where it will be in the carantine for at least overnight;
  • it is prohibited to visit the library with symptoms of respiratory tract diseases.

11. To RECOGNIZE that LiepU order No 14-v of 13th March 2020, order No 19-v of April 9th 2020 and order No 25-v of 8th May 2020 are no longer in force.
